I had three 21" LCD's connected to my PC for the longest time and played WoW on the middle monitor and used apps on the left and right.ġ. There's really no limitation here, its all about preference. The only limiting factor would be your graphics card, does WoW run nicely at 1920x1200 versus whatever your monitor is running at? If so go ahead! You can make any monitor you like the primary, as well as put the taskbar on either monitor, same goes for WoW. While Ultramon is lovely and worth the $25 or so to license it, you don't need it to do any of the above suggestions.

i have 2 of the same monitor, but i have the start menu on the right side monitor so i can access it while something is full screen on the left. If you use a program similar to ultramon, you can put the start button and stuf on whichever monitor you like. Remember, your Desktop will spread over the two monitors - there is nothing wrong with having -copies- of your desktop icons on the -other- screen, so you can click on them without using the Start Menu. You'll be fine with the 'big screen' on the left. It sounds clumsy, but in "real life" situations, it works just fine, no extra configuration required.

That will also activate the Windows Task Bar so I can switch to other tasks. Since changing focus in WoW is pretty rare, this worked admirably well without any need for Ultramon or other 'screen layout' altering hacks.Ĭity of Heroes doesn't constrain the mouse to the active screen (sadly) so when I want to activate my Browser I just slide my mouse-pointer over to the right hand screen and click, then I'm in the browser. I can pick an application from the task bar, or click on my browser and do browsing things, whilst WoW chuggs away to itself on the left hand screen. Switching to the other screen (because I was in full screen) involved hitting the Windows button on the keyboard, which brings up the Task Bar, and frees the mouse to slide to the other screen. I played WoW in full screen mode on the TV which was designated 'primary monitor'. I have a 32" HDTV on the left and a 22" Acer on the right, Windows XP.
